FP&A Director/Senior Manager – Insurance (P&C or Health) This role is ideal for a strategic finance professional who excels in analysis, forecasting, and data‑driven decision making. The Director or Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will play a central role in driving financial performance, overseeing budgeting and forecasting cycles, and delivering insights that support organizational strategy. This is a hands‑on leadership position within a small, fast‑paced, and highly collaborative finance team.

Job Description The FP&A leader will be responsible for managing core financial planning activities, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and the development of detailed financial models. The position requires strong analytical capabilities and a deep understanding of financial reporting, key performance metrics, and business drivers. The role will partner closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure financial objectives support operational goals. Responsibilities also include contributing to major business initiatives, supporting growth strategies, and improving financial systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, collaborating with business intelligence and cross‑functional teams.

Build and maintain revenue, expense, and forecasting models using advanced financial tools.

Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, KPIs, and dashboards.

Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights for leadership.

Partner with internal stakeholders to align financial goals with operational priorities.

Support initiatives related to expansion, product development, and capital planning.

Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, workflows, and reporting processes.

Experience

4 or more years of FP&A experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Experience within insurance, financial services, or other recurring revenue environments preferred.

Technical Proficiency

Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise.

Strong knowledge of Power BI, Vena, or similar planning and reporting platforms.

Understanding of US GAAP and statutory reporting standards.

Experience with NetSuite Financials is beneficial.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.

MBA, CPA, CPCU, or CFA preferred.

Traits and Competencies

Strong communication and presentation skills suitable for executive‑level discussions.

Ability to work independently with integrity and sound judgement.
