Red Sector Recruitment is proud to be representing a thriving independent referral practice in Perth, Western Australia, seeking a Veterinary Specialist Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgeon to join their established multidisciplinary team.

The Opportunity We are seeking an Orthopaedic-focused Diplomate (or equivalent). Board‑certified candidates will be prioritised, although residency‑trained applicants are encouraged to apply. This position is specifically suited to an Orthopaedic Surgeon looking to work within a progressive, independent referral environment with an excellent case load and strong specialist support network. Experience in neurosurgery is advantageous but not essential.

You will be joining a collaborative surgical team including European Diplomates, a resident and intern, within a hospital that actively supports specialist development and training.

The Role

Full‑time or part‑time considered

Full‑time specialists work 4 days per week

No on‑call requirements

Working within a well‑established independent referral practice

Facilities & Equipment This hospital is exceptionally well‑equipped to support an advanced orthopaedic caseload, including:

Dedicated orthopaedic theatre

Intraoperative image viewing & fluoroscopy

Striker arthroscopy systems (1.9, 2.3, 2.7mm)

Arthroscopic pump and shaver

Full Synthes LCP system (1.5–3.5mm)

VOI TPLO plates

SOP & IMEX ESF systems (circular, linear, hybrid)

Negative pressure wound therapy

Bipolar and monopolar electrocautery

64‑slice CT

High‑field MRI

Digital radiography

MSK ultrasonography & image‑guided interventions

Case Load The practice benefits from a well‑established referral base, providing a consistent and varied orthopaedic caseload including:

Cruciate disease

Emergency fractures

Complex joint disruptions and luxations

Neurology referrals

You will be supported by:

Specialist radiologists

Dedicated anaesthesia specialists

Dedicated hospital veterinarians for inpatient and 24‑hour overnight care

A highly skilled and motivated nursing team
