We deliver successful project outcomes by managing cost, scope, risk, design, feasibility, and programme. Our clients include State governments, local councils, company boards, financiers, developers, builders, governments, PPP Sponsors and tertiary education providers.
The opportunity
A newly created role, we are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team in Queensland. Reporting to our Executive Director with a dotted line to the CFO, you will partner with the Queensland business to provide strategic financial insight and advice around the financial performance of our projects.
With no two days being the same, this busy role will see you being the go-to-person in managing our projects related financials in our ERP system, in all areas including project set-ups and maintenance, monthly invoicing, expense management, financial planning and analysis, as well as collaborating and assisting in EOM closing and forecasting.
A critical component of the role will be extracting, analysing and translating financial data from accounting into clear, insightful reporting using advanced Excel modelling and analytical capability. You will review and report on the financial performance of Queensland, including preparing financial reports, attending monthly review meetings and advising on key financial metrics, performance drivers, and trends to identify areas of improvement.
You will be an important member of our Queensland Leadership team and will contribute to the company’s ongoing strategic direction while acting as a senior advisor. You’ll also work closely with our Corporate Finance team in Melbourne, supporting our Financial Controller in End-Of-Month closing and audit-related tasks, as well as assisting our CFO in preparing annual budgets.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
Be degree and CPA / CA qualified
Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Financial Business Partner or Management Accounting role
Have accounting ERP system experience, ideally Sage Intacct experience
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling, scenario analysis and the ability to translate large data sets into clear, executive-ready insights
Have strong stakeholder management skills with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence decisions at all levels
Ideally have consulting or contractor industry experience
Have fantastic time management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and be able to meet deadlines
