Job Description
About the role
Mventech is expanding its Australian capability and is seeking a Senior Consultant with strong experience in PMO design, capital project governance, and portfolio frameworks to join our Brisbane team.
This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, structure, and execution — someone who is motivated by improving project definition, decision quality, and delivery maturity rather than simply administering processes.
The role will support client PMO and governance engagements, while also playing a key role in advancing Mventech’s internal project management standards, frameworks, and delivery models.
Key Focus Areas & Responsibilities
1) PMO & Capital Governance Design
Shape and embed fit-for-purpose PMO operating models, governance frameworks, and portfolio structures that align capital investment decisions with organisational strategy.
2) Project Definition & FEL Maturity
Strengthen project definition quality through the development and refinement of stage-gate processes, FEL-aligned decision frameworks, and capital readiness inputs informed by AACE estimate classes.
3) Process & Operating Model Design
Design and improve end-to-end project and portfolio processes using structured business analysis techniques, including BPMN 2.0 process modelling, to enable clarity, consistency, and scalability.
4) Portfolio Insight & Decision Support
Support project health assessments, portfolio reviews, and executive-level reporting that provides meaningful insight into risk, readiness, and performance.
5) Systems Enablement
Contribute to the specification, selection, and rollout of project and portfolio management systems, ensuring workflows are well integrated and aligned with governance requirements.
6) Change & Capability Enablement
Engage stakeholders through workshops, training, and maturity assessments to embed sustainable ways of working and support long-term capability uplift.
7) Standards & Continuous Improvement
Actively contribute to the development, refinement, and standardisation of Mventech’s internal project management standards, frameworks, and artefacts, supporting consistent, high-quality delivery across the business.
8) Hands-on delivery
Actively contribute to the execution of PMO frameworks, governance models, process maps, reporting structures, and implementation activities, particularly where depth of experience or judgement is required.
9) Professional Communication
Prepare high-quality reports, executive summaries, and presentations suitable for senior leadership and governance forums.
