We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Market Insights Analyst to join us in our Market Services team in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth on a Permanent Full Time Contract.

Reporting to the Manager Market Systems, Data and Reporting, you will be responsible for delivering data-driven market insights and reports that support strategic decision-making and help optimise the commercial performance of APA’s assets.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor developments in the east and west coast gas markets, NEM and WEM to provide strategic insights that support the commercial optimisation of gas transmission and generation assets.

Monitor emerging market trends and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on business operations and opportunities.

Examine customer behaviour to identify opportunities for new products and services.

Develop dashboards, reports, and forecasting tools to track market trends and support data-driven decision-making.

Your Background

Strong experience in electricity and gas market analysis, with knowledge of domestic gas market dynamics and NEM and WEM operations.

Skilled in using data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar for modelling, reporting, and insights generation.

Practical experience developing dashboards, reporting tools, and scenario models to support commercial decisions.

Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Collaborative, solution-focused, and commercially aware, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills and a focus on driving results.
