DXC is seeking an experienced, security cleared Enterprise Architect to support major Canberra-based programs delivering complex transformation in secure, regulated environments. You will work across business and technology stakeholders to shape target architectures, guide delivery teams, and ensure all solution designs align to enterprise strategy, security requirements, and governance standards. This role is ideal for an architect who thrives in ambiguity, can influence at senior levels, and can bridge strategy to execution across platforms, applications, data and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture & Strategy
Develop and maintain Enterprise Architecture artefacts, including current state, target state and transition architectures, roadmaps, capability models, principles and standards
Translate business objectives into technology strategy and investment direction
Shape and govern architecture decisions across programs and portfolios including the pre-sales function
Architecture Governance & Assurance
Lead architecture governance through design forums such as Architecture Review Boards (ARB) / Design Authorities
Produce or contribute to Architecture Blueprints, HLDs, SADs, ICDs, security design artefacts
Provide architectural assurance across delivery phases (initiation → implementation → sustainment)
Security, Compliance & Risk
Ensure architecture outcomes align with applicable frameworks and controls (as relevant to the environment), including PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight, secure-by-design principles and threat-informed architecture
Identify and manage architecture and security risks, including mitigation strategies and residual risk acceptance pathways
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner closely with customer executives, delivery leadership, engineering teams, and vendor partners
Communicate complex technical topics to senior stakeholders clearly and credibly
Drive outcomes through influence, pragmatic decision-making, and trusted relationships
Delivery Enablement
Support delivery teams with architecture guidance and decision support
Ensure solution design patterns are reusable, scalable, resilient and supportable
Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Engineers and SMEs to enable successful implementation
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience operating as an Enterprise Architect (or senior Solution Architect working at enterprise level)
Demonstrated experience delivering architecture within Defence / Federal Government or similarly regulated environments
Strong capability across enterprise domains including applications and platforms, integration and APIs, data and information architecture, infrastructure and cloud patterns, identity and access management concepts
Strong governance discipline and comfort operating within multi-year transformation programs
Strong written skills producing high-quality architecture artefacts and executive documentation
Desirable Experience (Highly Regarded)
Architecture frameworks and methods (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate, SABSA)
Experience with secure cloud / hosted environments: AWS, Azure, Protected environments (or similar)
Familiarity with the following is advantageous: Zero Trust concepts, cyber security architecture patterns, integration platforms / API management (MuleSoft, Boomi, Axway, etc.), modern engineering practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation)
