Job Description

The Procurement, Contracts and Asset Management team is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Director to manage, develop and undertake all levels of procurement from simple and low value, to complex and/or high value. This work will be undertaken with the support of a small but dedicated team deploying procurement strategies and contract management to inform forward planning for operations and support strategic transport objectives. The Senior Director will require strong communication skills to facilitate, collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to achieve an integrated and coordinated approach to public transport outcomes.

As the Senior Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for managing multiple priorities including asset management, procurement and contract management, have demonstrated ability to develop and manage large data sets, and the ability to solve problems using data and information. Extended experience in procurement would be a distinct advantage. This role requires a person who can inspire, energise and positively influence team and individual outcomes. Effective employee engagement skills are a key enabler in the performance of this role, as is a valuesโ€‘based leadership style.

Eligibility/Other requirements: Qualifications and or relevant experience in procurement and contract management, or related disciplines are highly desirable will be well regarded. Risk identification and management experience

Notes:

This is a temporary position available from 02 January 2026 to 04 February 2026. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

This position is situated in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
