Senior Test Engineer – Claims | Large Financial Organisation
Based in Brisbane | Hybrid – Office / WFH | Automation / Manual
Approx. $110-130/hour | Long term contract + extensions
This large transformation program is looking for a talented Senior Test Engineer with skills in Automation to come on board for a major program in the Claims platform team. As the ideal candidate you will have prior knowledge or experience in Claims Management solutions such as Guidewire/Claimcentre or similar.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute testing strategies, process improvements and standards for your deliverables
Effectively manage business stakeholder expectations and requirements
Ensure that the relevant levels and types of testing needed to produce quality software (e.g., functional, system, integration, regression, performance, security, accessibility, compatibility, maintainability, etc.) are executed and planned into the delivery lifecycle
Actively contribute to the analysis of business requirements, solutions and implementation decisions including contribution to acceptance criteria
Challenge the development team to ensure a high level of quality and test coverage at the appropriate levels
Support the creation, maintenance and reuse of test artefacts (e.g., test cases, plans, scripts, documentation, etc.)
Work with the team to deliver both automated and manual tests to meet delivery milestones
Ensure the types of testing needed to produce quality software are automated
Ensure the test data required for testing is produced automatically
Raise, report and track risks and defects
Always be on the lookout to implement automation of infrastructure setup, testing activities, releases, deployments and reporting
Design, develop and implement frameworks that build quality, automation and security into Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration pipelines across the delivery lifecycle
Support unit and integration testing on developed code including the execution of thorough and effective unit and system test plans and participate and/or support further testing phases
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum 5 years appropriate industry experience in a Software Test Engineer - Automation role
Experience in Guidewire/ClaimCenter highly desired
Experience in various programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Groovy, Python, etc.)
Experienced and confident in Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, REST Assured, Postman, SoapUI and Jenkins
Experience in adopting or implementing test automation frameworks
Proven track record of deliveryExperience supporting high availability production systems
Excellent knowledge/experience in the application of Agile and Lean approaches
