Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. Our Radiation Oncology team is seeking to engage a highly organised and professional individual in the role of Department Secretary. This position will provide confidential administrative support to the Head of Department and Staff Specialists. Key duties will involve managing diaries, coordinating meetings, preparing correspondence, maintaining records, overseeing rostering and recruitment processes, and assisting with procurement and TESL. The incumbent will also be responsible for producing complex business documents, undertaking data analysis, and carrying out a range of other administrative duties as required.

In addition, this position serves as the secretariat for the Radiation Oncology Trust, requiring discretion, accuracy, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of administration. What you will bring to the role

Demonstrated capacity to provide effective and professional administrative support, in confidence and with discretion within a busy and complex office environment.

Wellโ€‘developed verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to problemโ€‘solve and use professional judgement.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications including Document Management Systems such as Content Manager, all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications, Rostering Systems, Recruitment Systems, Procurement Systems and Patient Databases.

Proven experience in developing, implementing and evaluating quality improvement processes for administrative services and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Demonstrated ability to work with changing priorities and demands, work independently and as part of a team.

Demonstrated strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks whilst under sustained pressure and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
