We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our well-established Sunshine office. This is a senior leadership role suited to an accomplished personal injury lawyer who brings deep technical expertise, strong commercial judgement and a passion for developing others. You will be a recognised subject matter expert within the practice, responsible for managing a complex and high value caseload while playing a critical role in shaping team performance, client experience and the continued growth of the practice group.
Working closely with the Head of Practice and Senior Practice Leaders, you will provide technical leadership, mentor and develop lawyers, and contribute meaningfully to operational excellence, risk management, business performance and strategic initiatives.
What you'll do
Manage a complex and high value portfolio of workers compensation and personal injury matters, delivering consistently strong client and commercial outcomes
Provide expert legal guidance, strategic direction and case supervision across the practice group
Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert, supporting complex legal issues, litigation strategy and dispute resolution
Mentor, coach and formally develop junior and senior lawyers, building technical capability, strong case management disciplines and exceptional client care
Lead by example in client engagement, negotiation, advocacy and dispute resolution
Support the Head of Practice with operational leadership including performance management, financial forecasting, budgeting, risk management and governance
Drive strong file progression, client conversion, pricing discipline and financial performance
What will you bring?
You will be a highly experienced personal injury lawyer with significant post admission experience and a proven track record of managing complex and high value matters end to end. You will bring deep technical expertise in workers compensation and personal injury law, coupled with strong commercial acumen and sound professional judgement. You will have demonstrated experience mentoring and developing lawyers, with a genuine passion for building capability, lifting standards and fostering high performing teams. Your leadership style will be collaborative, accountable and values driven, enabling you to positively influence culture and performance. You will possess outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility and confidence to operate as a trusted advisor to clients, peers and senior leaders alike.
