Hunter Manning has been exclusively retained to appoint a

Chief Financial Officer

for a

leading, privately owned Perth-based business

operating within a complex, asset-intensive environment.

This is a senior, hands‑on CFO role, focused entirely on the financial leadership of a standalone operating business. It will suit a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering closely with executive leadership and operating with the agility of a private enterprise.

The Opportunity Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive team, the CFO will be accountable for the financial health, governance, and commercial performance of the business.

This is a highly operational and commercial position, with genuine influence across strategy, capital management, and day‑to‑day decision making.

The role offers a strong balance between

commercial execution (circa 70%)

and

strategic support (circa 30%) , within a business that values practical outcomes, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a trusted commercial partner to the board across operations, growth initiatives, and projects

Lead cashflow management, capital allocation, and treasury activities

Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support decision making

Develop and maintain robust financial policies, controls, and governance frameworks

Deliver insightful management reporting and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and performance

Lead banking and funding discussions relevant to the business

Oversee tax compliance, GST, income tax, payroll reconciliations, and statutory obligations

Manage financial risk, including insurance and financial compliance

Drive process improvement initiatives across finance and related functions

Lead, mentor, and develop a well‑established finance and payroll team

About You You are a commercially astute CFO or senior finance leader who thrives in privately owned, operationally focused businesses.

You will bring

CA or CPA qualification

Strong experience in senior financial management

Strong experience across cashflow, capital management, and funding

Advanced financial analysis and modelling capability

Experience leading and developing high‑performing finance teams

The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights

A pragmatic, solutions‑focused mindset with strong business acumen
