Group Financial Controller

Our client is a market leader within the travel and tourism industry. With a diverse portfolio across Australia, they are consolidating several businesses into a new, large group with its head office based on the Gold Coast.

This role is ideally suited to candidates currently working in, or coming from, an

ASX-listed or highly regulated corporate environment , with a deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting and financial control.

The Opportunity Reporting to the General Manager of Finance, this role has end‑to‑end responsibility for financial control across the group. You will lead the financial accounting function, ensure strong governance and compliance, and act as a key technical advisor to the broader finance and executive teams.

This is a hands‑on role with leadership responsibility and exposure to senior stakeholders, making it ideal for someone looking to step into a broad Financial Controller position while remaining technically strong.

Key Responsibilities

Full ownership of the financial control and general ledger function

Delivery of monthly, quarterly and year‑end reporting in line with Australian Accounting Standards

Statutory compliance, audit coordination and technical accounting matters

Cash flow forecasting, working capital management and balance sheet integrity

Oversight of fixed assets, capital expenditure and project accounting

Development and maintenance of financial policies, controls and procedures

Leading, mentoring and developing a financial accounting team

Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide clear, accurate and timely financial information

About You

CA or CPA qualified

Strong background in

technical accounting , ideally from an

ASX-listed, large corporate or audit environment

Proven experience in financial control, statutory reporting and audit management

Comfortable operating in complex, multi‑entity or multi‑site businesses

Strong attention to detail with the ability to translate technical accounting into clear commercial outcomes

Confident communicator able to work across finance and non‑finance stakeholders

Systems‑savvy, with experience working in ERPs and reporting tools
