The Role of Head of Student Learning & Wellbeing BCE is seeking an experienced system leader to guide high‑impact, evidence‑based learning and wellbeing practices. Reporting to the Education Excellence Executive, this role leads the delivery of BCE’s Education strategy, ensuring schools receive practical, accessible and scalable support regardless of context.

The remit spans teaching and learning, curriculum, literacy and numeracy, inclusive education, wellbeing and pastoral care, First Nations education, research partnerships, community engagement, and governance and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will be: deeply grounded in the lived realities of schools expert in designing and delivering scalable system programs skilled at providing actionable guidance to teachers and leaders comfortable navigating diverse school contexts across the diocesan network

They will work closely with the Head of School Performance and central teams to ensure coordinated systemwide support and alignment with BCE’s priorities, including obligations under NSSAB, the National Curriculum Framework, and the Better Fairer Schools Agreement.

Role responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for student learning and wellbeing across BCE schools. Lead systemwide implementation of evidence‑based, high‑impact learning and wellbeing programs. Deliver practical, accessible guidance and professional learning to teachers and leaders. Ensure compliance with curriculum, governance, and regulatory requirements. Lead functional teams with clear expectations, performance accountability and high‑quality service delivery. Leverage data, digital tools and AI‑enabled insights to strengthen personalised learning and wellbeing.
