Anglicare North Queensland Limited (Anglicare NQ) is a for purpose not for profit ACNC registered charity and an independent legal entity operating as a Company Limited by Guarantee. We provide place-based human services, support community initiatives and undertake advocacy work. Our efforts are underpinned by Anglicare NQ’s purpose, core values and strong commitment to being a Child Safe Organisation and to the people and communities of North and Far North Queensland.
Due to continual growth in our services, we are recruiting a Director of HR Strategy & Wellbeing to be part of the Management Team.
This position will provide strategic management to the HR & WHS teams to ensure alignment with the organisations overall business objectives.
The role will include:
Creating and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, with regular updates to reflect legislative changes.
Talent acquisition and management activities include analysing and reviewing recruitment efforts to ensure the selection of high-quality candidates, as well as managing onboarding and performance evaluation processes to support employee engagement and retention.
Training and development responsibilities involve designing and delivering corporate training programs that support employee growth and capability in line with Anglicare NQ values, including Child Safe and resilience training.
High level HR & WHS systems design and the continual improvement of these systems for a growing organisation.
Reporting and analytics functions requiring the analysis of HR and WHS metrics and the preparation of reports for Senior Management, Board and Committees to inform sound decision-making and continuous improvement.
To be successful you will need
Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Business Management and or HR essential.
Extensive management and community services leadership experience combined with advanced knowledge of safety and wellbeing frameworks.
Collaborative orientation and advanced stakeholder engagement, relationship management and partnership development skills including the ability to navigate the interface and tension between risk management and front facing service delivery.
Expertise in policy development, HR, WHS and project management.
Demonstrated ability to drive organisational strategy, growth and diversification and contribute to social justice advocacy priorities.
Evidence based commitment to staff wellbeing, the promotion of inclusive and respectful workplace practices and a commitment to the identification and address of psychosocial hazards and focus on improving outcomes for impacted individuals.
Excellent administrative, reporting, project management skills and knowledge of accreditation and compliance requirements.
Genuine interest in culture, diversity and experience working with, First Nations people, families, Organisations and communities.
Compliance
Evidence of relevant Tertiary Qualifications
Satisfactory outcome of a current (less than 3 months old) National Criminal History Check
Blue Card (QLD working with children card)
LSC2 (child safety screening check)
QLD drivers’ licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
Out of hours work may be required from time to time.
Ability to undertake local / regional travel with periodic intrastate (and possibly interstate) travel is required.
