Job Description

Technical Sales Specialist – Victoria/Tasmania (Melbourne home office based) Anton Paar Australia is seeking a dynamic and proactive Technical Sales Specialist with a strong hunter mindset to sell cutting-edge scientific instruments to industry and academic clients. The role involves direct sales and application support for state-of-the-art products, including laboratory microwaves, extrusion systems, and precision instruments for measuring physical properties such as viscosity, refractometry, polarimetry, water/oil absorption, flash point testing and dough rheology.

Responsibilities: Direct Sales, Cold Calling and Lead Generation:

Drive sales of Anton Paar laboratory instrumentation through proactively identifying and pursuing new accounts, leads, and sales opportunities through cold calling and strategic prospecting efforts.

Customer Account Management:

Manage existing customer accounts while generating new revenue through account penetration, effective lead/funnel follow-up, and territory management across diverse industries and applications.

Application and Technical Support:

Provide expert application and technical support to new and existing customers.

Client Engagement:

Conduct regular customer site visits to deliver compelling sales presentations, perform instrument demonstrations, install new products, and train customers on equipment usage.

Administrative Duties:

Prepare detailed quotes, manage CRM system, and regularly report on territory performance.

Travel Requirements:

Engage in overnight travel (approximately 20%) and occasional international travel for product training.

Value Proposition:

Articulate and reinforce the unique value proposition of Anton Paar's offerings to customers.

Your profile: Educational Background:

Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.

Sales Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in technical sales, preferably involving analytical instrumentation.

Communication Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively across various organisational levels.

Technical Aptitude:

Proficient in handling measurement equipment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Travel Readiness:

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Licenses:

Valid driver’s license and ownership of a well-maintained vehicle.

Residence:

Melbourne

Work Authorisation:

Valid work visa for Australia (applications from applicants without working rights for Australia can unfortunately not be considered)
