The Role
Due to continued growth, Paxon is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our team in Australia.
This is the ideal next step for someone with several years’ experience in areas such as financial modelling in corporate or project finance, valuations, and other fields with financial modelling expertise.
The role will allow the right individual to progress into deal structuring and advisory.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to engage with clients and stakeholders across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, providing expert advice and leadership in various aspects of infrastructure development and financing, including:
Corporate and project finance financial modelling for PPPs, utilities and other infrastructure projects
Commercial structuring of projects and ventures, including development of commercial and financial structures and contracting arrangements
Various forms of financing procurement including senior and subordinated debt products.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you:
Must have 2 or more years' experience working with sophisticated financial models in MS Excel, including those used for banked transactions.
Must be able to review, enhance and operate financial models, including strong skills in understanding key drivers and the ability to confidently undertake scenario and sensitivity analysis.
Ideally are familiar with project finance practice, customs and requirements.
Ideally have experience with PPPs, utilities and other infrastructure projects.
Optionally have a basic understanding of how Visual Basic Applications coding works within MS Excel, and why they are used.

You have several years’ relevant experience in advisory, banking or corporate organisations and have a good grounding that has honed your commercial thinking and technical financial skills.
You have since realised that you want to work in Project or Corporate Finance and accelerate your career by working on high‑profile, meaningful projects.
You are proud of your advanced level MS Excel skills and how you can use data to inform recommendations.
You enjoy working with financial models and want to continue to develop your skills in this area.
You have a finance / commerce background backed by studies in law, engineering or finance.
You have strong commercial acumen and exceptional communication skills.
Your excellent analytical and research skills allow you to solve problems effectively.
You have advanced document writing and presentation preparation skills.
You are prepared to take ownership for your work and professional development and ask questions, rather than waiting for the answers to be given to you.
