We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, we are seeking a

Finance Business Partner

who can bring their skills and experience to:

Manage the financial position of assigned Directorates and service units, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information through detailed review of general ledger transactions, month-end processing and forecasting activities, and providing assurance to Executive and senior leaders on reported financial results.

Proactively identify and communicate emerging financial risks and opportunities, and oversee the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support informed decision-making, incorporating operational data, trends, stakeholder input and business knowledge.

Deliver strategic finance partnering to Directorates by providing high-quality financial analysis, insights and advice to senior leaders, including variance commentary, business case review, and recommendations to improve financial performance and organisational value.

Support Council objectives through exceptional customer service, building strong stakeholder relationships, assisting service units with budgeting and financial processes, responding to enquiries with expert advice, and driving increased financial capability across the organisation.

Contribute to the delivery of Finance Department outcomes through active participation in month-end processes, financial reporting, annual budget development, long-term financial planning and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.

To be considered you will have:

Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to create strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Extensive experience in managing divisional or department budgets, including accountability for actual results, budget and forecast.

Strong analytical capabilities to provide insightful trends and analysis to stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to innovate to explore opportunities to achieve financial outcomes for stakeholders.

Proven ability to proactively identify financial risk and opportunities

Proven ability to create value in the business by exploring revenue and cost opportunities, as well as leading continuous improvement initiatives.
