About the Branch
The Standards and Integrity Directorate manages employee conduct and disciplinary matters through the assessing and investigation of complaints about alleged employee misconduct. The Directorate provides system-wide oversight in response to the WA Reportable Conduct Scheme. The Directorate operates in a high profile and politically sensitive environment and applies contemporary governance and risk management strategies to ensure child safety within the public education system. The Directorate also conducts incident reviews and develops and delivers integrity education and training to staff across the Department of Education.
About You
As a key part of our Department’s senior leadership team, you will provide specialist advice to the Minister for Education, Director General, Corporate Executive and senior management to inform decision‑making on complex integrity matters affecting the Department. You will manage and coordinate the Department’s long‑term, complex responses to reportable conduct matters and allegations related to minor or serious misconduct. This will include management of relationships and negotiation of requirements from the Western Australia Police Force, Corruption and Crime Commission, Public Sector Commission, Ombudsman Western Australia and Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
In this role you will navigate the consequences and risks of your decisions and proactively define, support and implement risk‑management strategies within the Standards and Integrity Directorate. You will lead by example and promote integrity and ethical practice through the development of a culture of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment and adherence to our code of conduct.
