Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital Are you a specialist in any of the following disciplines?

We are seeking experienced and motivated Consultants to join our team at the Bunbury campus.

You will be a suitably qualified and experienced Consultant who delivers specialist medical services as part of a high‑quality, holistic and compassionate patient‑care team. In this role, you will champion patient safety and quality of care while providing leadership, training, supervision, mentorship and education to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is a 145‑bed private hospital located on the Southwest Health Campus alongside Bunbury Regional Hospital, enabling both facilities to share key services and supports to deliver coordinated, high‑quality care.

The Position

Undertakes clinical care including inpatient, outpatient (private practice) and hospital consultancy work as required.

Accepts and admits direct admissions from the community.

Accepts and admits referrals for admission doctors external to SJGBH during business hours when on duty and after hours when on call.

Maximises appropriate in‑patient occupancy.

Appropriately manages in‑patient length of stay in accordance with average length of stay by DRG.

Provides general medical and subspecialty services to patients on the hospital as defined by your scope.

Assists the CEO with the development of medical services, in the Southwest.

Ensures all clinical documentation meets the required standard and is optimised to accurately reflect patient complexity.

Participates in the on‑call roster.

Provides supervision of junior medical staff, including assessment of staff performance in relation to clinical competence, adherence to departmental protocols, timely and accurate documentation, and communication with patients, relatives, peers, caregivers and doctors in other hospitals and in the community.

Commitment to a team‑based approach to clinical care.

You will have Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent within the next 6 months, with appropriate training and clinical experience in general medicine.

You will have an ability to work and co‑ordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and a demonstrated competency in providing clinical leadership in a work environment.

Highly regarded will be experience in research with appropriate publications, clinical experience and training in a subspecialty, and an ability to demonstrate a commitment to the provision of a quality service at a personal and service level.

We can offer

Highly competitive salary & conditions ($356,343 - $468,883 plus 12% superannuation per annum, pro rata for part time).

Fixed‑term, Full and part‑time roles available for 12 months.

Professional Development Allowance $32,157 per annum pro rata for part time.
