The Opportunity
We are seeking a Principal Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high-performance, production-ready power electronics hardware across our charger platforms.
This is a senior technical authority role, responsible for architectural decisions, design integrity, and technical risk management across switching converters, magnetics, thermal systems, and sensing architectures. You will play a critical role in ensuring our power modules meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, manufacturability, and safety as they transition into high-volume production.
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the VP, Charger Technology, this is a hands-on leadership position working closely with systems, control, manufacturing, and quality teams.
What you’ll do
Lead architecture and design of advanced power electronics hardware
Deliver robust, production-ready solutions across converters, magnetics, thermal and sensing systems
Direct validation strategy, test planning, and technical risk assessments
Conduct deep simulation and analytical modelling across electrical, magnetic, and thermal domains
Lead complex root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions
Mentor engineers and elevate overall hardware engineering standards
Contribute to R&D initiatives and intellectual property generation
Drive continuous improvement aligned to high-volume manufacturing
What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
10–15 years’ experience in power electronics product development
Proven success delivering hardware into high-volume manufacturing
Deep expertise in switching converters, magnetics design, and thermal management
Strong simulation, modelling, and analytical capability
Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams
Strong understanding of full hardware product lifecycle from concept to production
