About the Role
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical oversight across complex civil and environmental infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure technical excellence, budget and schedule control, and adherence to quality and safety standards. You’ll also mentor junior engineers, coordinate subcontractors, and take a leading role in engineering design, procurement, and risk management.
You will step up to act on behalf of the Project Manager when required, ensuring strong leadership continuity and effective project delivery.
What You Will Do:
Lead the engineering and technical delivery of civil and environmental projects, including Rum Jungle.
Support and deputise for the Project Manager in all aspects of project leadership.
Oversee procurement, subcontractor engagement, scheduling, and reporting.
Manage design coordination, technical RFIs, variations, and progress claims.
Ensure compliance with WHSEQ policies, legislation, and best practice.
Mentor graduate engineers and foster a strong safety and performance culture.
Promote process improvement, value engineering, and innovation throughout project execution.
What You Will Bring:
A recognised degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
3–5 years’ experience in major construction or infrastructure project delivery.
Proven experience in contracts administration, procurement, and project controls.
Strong leadership and mentoring capability with excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Project, InEight, Aconex, Procore, or similar systems.
Solid understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation.
Current White Card, valid driver’s licence, and ability to obtain DCSI/Defence clearance.
