Job Description

Executive Partner to the Chief Executive Officer

Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT – New Town TAS The Executive Partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a strategic and highly influential role that provides executive-level partnership, advisory support, and enterprise coordination across Southern Cross Care Tasmania. As a trusted advisor and extension of the CEO, this role operates at the centre of the organisation, enabling strategic clarity, executive alignment, disciplined execution, and effective governance. You will serve as a key integrator across the Executive Team, ensuring priorities are aligned, decisions are informed, and commitments are delivered. This position blends exceptional organisational capability with strong commercial acumen and enterprise-wide perspective. It requires the confidence to engage at Board level, the judgement to manage highly sensitive matters, and the agility to operate across strategic, operational, and cultural domains. Key Responsibilities

Executive Partnership & CEO Support

Provide high-level executive partnership to the CEO, including complex calendar management, briefing preparation, stakeholder coordination, and confidential correspondence. Prepare and quality-assure Board papers, executive reports, presentations, and strategic documentation. Anticipate CEO priorities and proactively remove barriers, streamline workflows, and manage competing demands. Coordinate Executive Team meetings, strategy sessions, quarterly town halls, and leadership offsites. Leverage digital tools and systems to manage priorities, knowledge, actions, and cross-functional deliverables (experience with workflow tools such as Jira highly regarded).

Strategic Advisory & Enterprise Alignment

Act as a strategic sounding board to the CEO, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations to support decision-making. Support development, tracking, and execution of the organisation’s strategic plan and key enterprise initiatives. Ensure alignment across executive portfolios, identifying interdependencies, risks, and opportunities. Monitor performance against strategic priorities and escalate emerging issues requiring CEO attention. Provide high-level coordination and oversight of critical enterprise-wide projects.

Executive & Cross-Functional Coordination

Serve as a central liaison between the CEO and the Executive Team, Board members, and key internal and external stakeholders. Act as the connective tissue across executive portfolios — ensuring clear communication, accountability, and follow-through on commitments. Track CEO commitments, actions, and cross-team deliverables to ensure timely execution. Consolidate enterprise reporting, performance metrics, and organisational updates for executive and Board review. Support cultural alignment and leadership consistency across the organisation. Support governance processes including Board reporting cycles, risk oversight, compliance tracking, and policy governance. Assist in preparing materials for Board and Committee meetings, ensuring clarity, quality, and strategic alignment. Monitor governance actions and ensure executive accountability against agreed outcomes. Maintain discretion and integrity in managing highly confidential organisational matters.

About You

You are a strategic, confident, and highly trusted professional who thrives in complexity. You are comfortable operating at Board and Executive level and bring both structure and calm to high-pressure environments. You balance strong business acumen with exceptional interpersonal capability, and you are equally comfortable drafting a Board paper as you are facilitating executive alignment or problem-solving a complex organisational issue. You are not simply an administrator, you are a partner, advisor, and integrator. Proven experience in a Chief of Staff, Executive Partner, Senior Executive Assistant, or similar strategic support role to a CEO or Executive leader. Demonstrated experience working at Board and Executive level. Qualification in business administration, governance, project management, or related discipline. Strong commercial and organisational acumen with the ability to interpret data and translate strategy into action. Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills. Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration/workflow tools. High level of discretion, judgement, and professionalism. Experience in aged care, health, community services, or similarly regulated sectors. Experience supporting organisational transformation, reform programs, or enterprise change initiatives. Governance or risk management exposure. What’s on offer
