Summary The Portfolio Lead is responsible for overseeing Brisbane Catholic Education’s project portfolio to ensure initiatives are prioritised, governed and delivered in alignment with organisational strategy and system priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office, the role provides clear insight into delivery performance, financial outcomes, portfolio risk and benefits realisation, while strengthening portfolio governance and project management capability across the organisation.

Status: Permanent (Continuing) | Commencing March 2026

About the opportunity In this position you will be responsible for:

Lead end‑to‑end portfolio governance and delivery oversight to ensure high‑quality project performance aligned to strategic objectives

Drive portfolio planning and execution, including prioritisation, resourcing, financial control, risk management and benefits realisation

Provide clear, data‑driven insights and reporting on portfolio performance, risks and outcomes to senior leaders

Establish and embed fit‑for‑purpose portfolio and project management frameworks, standards and reporting

Build and lead high‑performing teams across the project portfolio, fostering a strong project delivery culture

Develop organisational project management capability through coaching, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Undertake advanced strategic analysis to inform direction, policy, processes and decision‑making

Partner with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of the organisation

About you To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

Demonstrated experience leading and governing complex project portfolios in a large or multifaceted organisation

A collaborative leader with experience developing and leading high‑performing teams

Strong strategic, analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations

Stakeholder engagement across an organisation at a Senior level

Project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2) is required

Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or significant experience in a similar role are highly regarded

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements

Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment

Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement
