Your tasks and responsibilities will encompass the following, among others:
Lead complex forensic investigations into structural failures, identifying causes and proposing remedial actions for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
Prepare comprehensive forensic reports, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
Serve as an expert witness, presenting evidence and technical findings in legal proceedings and disputes.
Develop and implement innovative methodologies and tools for forensic analysis, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of investigations.
Conduct site inspections and structural assessments, utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques to identify underlying issues.
Engage with clients, stakeholders, and industry professionals, providing expert advice and consultation on forensic structural engineering matters.
Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the forensic engineering team.
Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, research, and developments in forensic structural engineering, applying this knowledge to improve service quality and outcomes.
Ensure all forensic investigations and reports comply with relevant standards, codes, and ethical guidelines, maintaining the highest level of professional integrity.
Qualifications & Expertise:
Advanced degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years experience in forensic structural engineering, including conducting failure analyses and serving as an expert witness.
Proficient in the use of forensic investigation tools and software.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal standards.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex engineering concepts to non-experts.
Proven track record of publishing research or presenting findings at industry conferences.
