Job Description
Viva Energy Australia is seeking an experienced
Enterprise Architect
to shape the future of our technology landscape.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development and ongoing management of our business, application, and technical architecture, while defining a clear IT strategy and roadmap that guides us toward our future-state technology environment.
You’ll drive the creation and continuous improvement of strategies, roadmaps, standards and architectural artefacts that ensure our systems are reliable, efficient, and aligned to the business capabilities they support. This is a high‑impact opportunity to influence enterprise‑wide decisions and play a key role in building the technology foundation that powers Viva Energy’s next chapter.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Define, analyse and optimise enterprise-wide business processes to support strategic and operational outcomes.
Develop and maintain architecture and technology roadmaps ensuring alignment with key business process objectives.
Provide authoritative guidance on process governance, standards and frameworks.
Engage with senior stakeholders to inform prioritisation and key business process improvements decision making.
Evaluate the impact of business and technology changes on end-to-end processes.
Defines and manages the design framework and governance in order to ensure systems of technology and business processes work together effectively
Develops and maintains the principles, policies and standards that ensure the effective incorporation of business architecture into technology architecture and solution design
Maintains awareness of industry and technology trends/practices to identify best-in-class technology architecture practices
Provide positive leadership and support the development of the broader architecture cohort
Defines and maintains architecture tools & platforms to ensure that architecture artifacts are always current and accessible
Qualifications
5+ years in application/solution architecture and 2+ years in enterprise architecture.
Degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
Strong experience in process modelling, capability mapping and operating model design.
Background working in complex tech environments with cross‑functional teams.
Deep understanding of business architecture standards and design practices.
Proven ability to produce clear, accurate architecture artefacts and system design documentation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex problems into structured designs.
Ability to lead and drive the Enterprise Architecture function, influencing decisions across business and technology.
Advanced skills in process modelling tools.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills.
Experience with EA and process improvement frameworks (TOGAF, Lean, Six Sigma).
Experience coaching and developing other professionals.
