A week in the role might look like
Running a key workstream on a mid-market M&A deal, steering negotiations on key terms
Re-engineering a client’s commercial framework for a new JV or restructure
Translating risk into plain English for a founder or CFO and agreeing a clear path forward
Collaborating with a senior lawyer on a complex advisory piece with real boardroom impact
Checking in with a junior on drafting, giving feedback that lifts quality and confidence
What you’ll work on
Transactions: M&A, divestments, restructures, joint ventures and strategic alliances
Contracts: drafting, reviewing and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements
Advisory: clear, outcome-oriented guidance on risk allocation, governance and structuring
Matter management: balancing autonomy with collaboration to deliver on time, at quality
Client care: building durable relationships through responsiveness and sound judgement
Team support: guiding juniors when needed to lift consistency and throughput
About you
4–6 years PAE in commercial law within a respected private practice
Strong drafting and negotiation skills with meticulous attention to detail
Sound commercial judgement; you see the strategy behind the paperwork
Confident engaging directly with clients and moving decisions forward
Calm, collaborative communicator who takes pride in quality work
Growth mindset with integrity, accountability and drive
