About The Role
This role is required to ensure CSB scales compliantly and efficiently while protecting margin in a highly competitive global eCommerce retail environment. A dedicated Group Financial & Tax Accountant will provide CSB with central ownership of group reporting, tax compliance, and governance, reducing reliance on external advisors, improving decision‑quality, and enabling management to focus on growth.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day financial operations across CSB’s Australian and US entities, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Manage the general ledger, including reconciliations of key accounts, bank statements, intercompany transactions, and consolidations.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, partnering closely with the Finance Manager to deliver timely and accurate results.
Prepare monthly management accounts as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with AASB and US GAAP as required.
Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax obligations across Australia (GST, BAS, FBT), the US (federal and state income tax, sales tax), and proactively monitor emerging requirements in new markets including the UK/EU (VAT, corporate tax).
Intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations.
Partner with external advisors where needed while building internal capability for proactive tax planning and risk mitigation across US, AU, and future UK/EU tax regimes.
Margin protection through accurate tax provisioning, transfer pricing support, and intercompany cost recovery.
Support the budgeting process by providing financial analysis, forecasting future financial trends, and identifying variances.
Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare reports and recommendations for management review.
Collaborate with HOD’s to provide financial insights that drive strategic decisions and commercial outcomes, including inventory planning, promotional forecasting, and ROI analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and internal control enhancements.
Timely and reliable group reporting to support funding, investment, and strategic decisions.
About You
CPA or CA qualified (or working towards).
3–6+ years in financial accounting, corporate tax, or advisory.
Experience in group consolidations, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing.
Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and indirect taxes (GST, VAT, sales tax).
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; ERP experience; Power BI or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
