About the Role
Redland City Council is seeking an exceptional executive to lead its Organisational Services division. This is a large, multi-disciplinary portfolio that plays a critical role in enabling Councilโs corporate performance, community outcomes and long term strategic ambitions.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the General Manager, Organisational Services:
Lead complex teams with strong strategic and governance capability
Deliver transformation and high performing organisational outcomes
Build trusted relationships across government, industry and community
Leads a diverse workforce of more than 250 employees across seven specialist functional groups
Oversees an operating budget of approximately $51.9 million and a capital budget of approximately $11.6 million
Shapes and delivers corporate strategies that position Council for future success, with a focus on organisational performance, financial sustainability, governance excellence and digital transformation
Ensures Council maintains strong enterprise risk management frameworks and high standards of compliance, service quality and customer experience
Plays a pivotal role in citywide resilience, disaster preparedness and multi-agency coordination, performing the statutory role of Local Disaster Coordinator
Provides trusted advice to the Mayor, Councillors and CEO within a complex legislative, regulatory and political environment
Acts as a project sponsor and key influencer across major corporate initiatives and โgame changerโ projects
Has the opportunity to act in the CEO role when required, leading the organisation in the stewardship of public resources and service outcomes
This role is instrumental in shaping the culture, capability and performance of the organisation and in strengthening Councilโs long term impact on the Redlands Coast community.
About You
We are looking for a seasoned executive who brings strategic insight, sound judgement and the ability to lead large, diverse teams in a complex political and community environment. The right candidate will have a strong record of shaping organisational performance, delivering transformation and building trusted relationships across government, industry and the community. With a collaborative leadership style and outcomes focused mindset, the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide strategy and contribute to meaningful public value is a proposition which will drive you excel.
You will bring
Extensive experience in executive leadership, including accountability for corporate governance, financial management, organisational performance and enterprise risk.
A proven ability to lead change, uplift culture and capability, and deliver high quality, customer focused services.
Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with confidence operating in sensitive political, regulatory and public facing contexts.
