This newly created position, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, will lead the legal matters relating to Vocus’s regulatory obligations, including compliance with international telecommunications licences (Singapore and United States). The role will work closely with internal stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Government and Regulatory Affairs, and external regulators, ensuring Vocus’s operations meet all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-day
You'll have a broad range of commercial work and will be responsible for leading the legal support for regulatory matters at Vocus, including:
Provide expert legal advice on regulatory obligations affecting Vocus, including in relation to its international telecommunications licences (Singapore and United States).
Advise Vocus stakeholders on compliance with the obligations and providing training on regulatory requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations on an ongoing basis through implementing processes and compliance frameworks
Knowledge sharing, including creating and updating internal documents regarding compliance with regulatory obligations applicable to Vocus
Liaise with regulators and industry bodies on behalf of Vocus
Support internal investigations and audits relating to regulatory compliance.
What You’ll Bring To This Role
Qualified legal practitioner with at least 5 years post-admission in-house experience in regulatory matters, preferably in telecommunications or a related sector
Experience using and experimenting with AI and other tech tools for ease and speed
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legislation and regulatory instruments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience engaging with regulators and industry bodies
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement compliance programmes
High attention to detail and organisational skills.
