Organization
This organization is a global leader in technical fabrics and outdoor shade solutions, with more than 70 years of innovation across Australia, the USA, the Middle East, Europe and China. With a proud heritage in sustainable materials, performance textiles and category-defining technology, the business is now entering a new and exciting chapter — shifting from a traditional product manufacturer to a people-centred shade solutions provider shaping how outdoor spaces are experienced around the world.
With strong presence across retail and commercial markets, and a strategy deeply grounded in customer insight, sustainability, design and ease-of-use, the organization is primed for a commercially strong, strategic and forward-thinking Sales Director to help lead its next phase of growth.
Opportunity
This is a pivotal and highly influential leadership role within the ANZ region.
You will lead a large, complex, multi-channel commercial portfolio across retail, trade, B2B and e-commerce, while playing a central role in repositioning the business toward solution‑led value. You will bring both operational clarity and strategic curiosity — balancing the commercial engine with the opportunity to redefine how shade is understood, specified and delivered.
Yes, you will run the sales function with discipline: full P&L accountability, forecasting accuracy, commercial governance, major account leadership and clear performance standards.
But the real opportunity sits in what you'll shape.
You will build and strengthen the partnership ecosystem that enables seamless, intuitive shade solutions — from installers and fabricators to designers, specifiers, architects, sustainability partners and commercial influencers. You will elevate customer and end‑user insight as a core commercial capability, using it to sharpen value propositions, inform category growth, and support better decisions across the organization.
And because the business is global, your work will naturally extend into collaboration with teams in the United States, Middle East, Europe and China, ensuring ideas, intelligence and opportunities flow across regions.
This role suits a leader motivated by both influence and delivery, someone who enjoys building capability, opening new markets and enabling teams to perform at their best.
Key to Success
Build and lead a high‑performing, inspired sales team
Create a culture anchored in curiosity, accountability, commercial confidence and strong market engagement. Lift capability through coaching, clarity and consistent leadership.
Drive the transition to solutions‑led selling
Shift the conversation from product transactions to value‑based solutions grounded in design, performance, installation pathways and customer experience.
Shape and grow new commercial opportunities
Identify and develop scalable pathways across retail, horticulture, light commercial and mid‑scale environments, informed by insight, intelligence and cross‑functional collaboration.
Create and strengthen an ecosystem of strategic partnerships
Build alliances with installers, fabricators, designers, architects, builders, specifiers, councils and sustainability partners to broaden capability, deepen influence and enhance delivery.
Champion sustainability as a core part of value creation
Embed sustainability thinking into commercial narratives, customer conversations, partner programs and decision‑making.
Deliver commercial discipline and operational excellence
Lead P&L performance, forecasting, pricing, promotions, negotiations, account development and channel optimisation with clarity and commercial confidence.
If Successful, You Will
Lead the full ANZ sales function across retail, B2B, trade and e‑commerce.
Own revenue, margin and EBIT delivery for a $50M+ multichannel commercial portfolio.
Shape and implement solutions‑based commercial strategies.
Build and operationalise a partner ecosystem that enhances capability and delivery.
Influence global markets through ongoing collaboration with international teams.
Strengthen category leadership with key retail partners and commercial customers.
Develop a strong, engaged and high‑performing team.
Play an active role on the ANZ leadership team — shaping strategy, culture and direction.
About You
You are a commercial leader who thrives on both structure and transformation. You bring a balance of analytical rigour and creativity. You're as comfortable in a boardroom negotiation as you are in a workshop uncovering customer needs. You enjoy leading people, solving problems and opening new commercial pathways.
You have:
A growth mindset.
Strong negotiation, communication and relationship strengths.
The ability to simplify complex commercial ideas.
A talent for building trust with partners, customers and teams.
Confidence navigating change, ambiguity and new category development.
An entrepreneurial style grounded in commercial logic and pragmatic delivery.
A leadership style that uplifts others and creates clarity, momentum and belief.
What You Bring
Experience owning a P&L across a complex retail and / or commercial environment.
Strong background in multi‑channel sales leadership.
Demonstrated success in value‑based or solution‑based selling.
Capability to build partnerships and influence across varied stakeholder groups.
Comfort working in environments where insight, customer intimacy and ecosystem engagement matter.
A proven ability to coach, inspire and uplift teams through change.
What's on Offer
A career‑defining opportunity to lead a region, shape a category and influence a global business undergoing meaningful transformation. You'll have genuine autonomy, strong senior backing, and the platform to build something with long‑term impact, commercially, strategically and culturally.
If you're seeking a Sales Director role with purpose, influence and room to create, this one stands out.
