Senior Estimator - Water

Location Melbourne, VIC (open to applicants anywhere in Australia)

The Opportunity Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator – Water to join our national estimating team and support major opportunities across the water and infrastructure sectors.

This role plays a key part in our growth pipeline, contributing to high‑quality estimates and supporting bids across a diverse range of projects. You’ll work with stakeholders around the country to deliver accurate, competitive and consistent pricing outcomes—helping shape Downer’s future programs and long‑term partnerships.

You can be based anywhere in Australia, including regional areas, with full flexibility to work from home. A Melbourne home base is beneficial given upcoming local activity, but not essential.

What we’re looking for We are seeking a talented estimator with strong technical grounding and a collaborative working style. You will bring:

Proven estimating experience across water, wastewater, utilities, linear infrastructure or heavy industry.

Exposure to mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (E&I) components such as pipework, instrumentation and mechanical installations.

The ability to work across multiple bids or programs, ideally within national portfolios or multi‑site environments.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work effectively with dispersed teams.

Relevant qualifications in engineering or a related discipline.

Candidates from civil backgrounds with water‑related experience are encouraged to apply.
