Senior Consultant

Mine Safety Institute of Australia (MSIA) requires a Senior Consultant to assistance our valued clients. MSIA provides advice and assistance in all areas of Mine Safety and Health Management and provides a broad range of Mining Legislation, Safety and Health Management, Risk Management, Contractor Management and Hazard Management training and workshops.

Our vision is for every mine worker to have a safe place to work.

Currently we have a vacancy available for a Senior Consultant to join our team on an ongoing basis.The position would ideally suit a Part Time or Semi-Retired person with extensive mining knowledge and experience who is capable of facilitating our training workshops.

About the Role As an integral part of our team, you will be capable of facilitating Mining Safety and Health workshops focused on Mining Safety and Health Legislation, Safety and Health Management Systems, and Risk Management. The position may also conduct, on site auditing, investigations and other consulting services.

Our Ideal Candidate

10 Years + Mining Industry experience, preferably coal mining.

Excellent communication skills, professional aptitude and capacity to provide quality services to customers (both written and verbal)

Appropriate professional affiliations.

Training and Assessing qualifications – TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessing or its equivalent.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications according to services provided.

RIIWHS601 and RIIRIS601 and units of competency, equivalent or superior.

Commitment to a learning environment and exceptional standards of presentation.

Capacity to travel regionally and interstate to deliver services.

Valid Driver’s Licence
