Chief Manufacturing Officer

Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting‑edge Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). Our vessels harness wind, solar and wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.

We are under contract with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations across Australia and beyond. You will be joining a fast‑growing organisation contributing to nationally significant projects.

About the Role The Chief Manufacturing Officer is responsible for leading and scaling the end‑to‑end manufacturing process to ensure we meet our production targets. The role will define the long‑term production strategy whilst driving day‑to‑day operation optimisation across the function.

The Production function is responsible for the end‑to‑end production of all Bluebottles, including Procurement & Supply Chain, Electronics and all onboard systems.

Typical Day

Working with the C‑Suite to align strategic production goals with business goals

Working with the Head of Production to scale existing production processes to meet production targets

Partnering with the Supply Chain to diversify and scale suppliers and procurement processes

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience aligning an organisation’s manufacturing strategy with long‑term business goals, including meeting target production schedules and meeting budget targets

Extensive experience scaling a manufacturing function including Workforce Planning, leveraging an ERP system and optimising production processes within the Australian market

Experience overseeing strategic supply chain expansion and diversification, increasing efficiency and reducing down‑time

Ability to leverage data and key metrics to improve efficiency in all aspects of the production life cycle, including procurement

Expertise in implementing and constantly improving modern manufacturing techniques, including Lean and Six Sigma

Strong understanding of ISO9001 and configuration control within manufacturing
