About The Role As the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Chief Procurement Officer, the role is responsible for leading the Department's financial strategy, governance, and operations. This includes oversight of budgeting, financial planning, reporting, procurement, and contract management, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and alignment with government priorities. The CFO provides expert advice to the Director General and Executive Leadership Group to support informed decision-making and sustainable resource allocation.

As a key member of the executive team, the CFO drives financial performance, risk management, and reform initiatives. The role leads the development of financial policies and systems, manages complex funding arrangements, and ensures transparency and accountability in financial operations. It also plays a critical role in shaping budget submissions, capital investment strategies, and financial modelling to support service delivery and infrastructure planning.

Through strategic leadership and collaboration, the CFO promotes a culture of integrity, continuous improvement, and capability development across the finance function, contributing to the Department's long-term financial sustainability and operational excellence.

You will implement operational strategy and take the lead for shaping its short- and medium‑term directions. You will contribute strategic value by determining the focus areas for delivery through a broader lens and determining the timing of future growth in your business areas.
