We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) as the

Head of Risk and Assurance .

The Role Based in

Sydney, Dubbo or Broken Hill

(your choice) this is an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Management team as our Head of Risk and Assurance.

Continuously improve our Safety Management and Quality Systems to reduce risk and embed a positive safety culture.

Ensure compliance with the RFDSSE Air Operators Certificate requirements, WHS regulatory requirements, and ISO 9001 standards.

Oversee investigation processes, perform root cause analysis, and work with stakeholders to implement corrective and preventative actions.

Lead the development and delivery of safety training and communication to our operational teams.

Monitor the Safety Management & Quality System objectives and ensure performance aligns with organisational goals, reporting performance updates to the Board of Directors, CEO and Executive Team.

Who are we looking for? We are seeking a proactive, experienced aviation safety leader to drive and continuously improve our Safety Management and Quality Systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver on our safety and quality goals.

This is a critical leadership role that requires a strong safety mindset, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to make timely, evidence‑based decisions.

Proven experience: Aviation industry background with a strong focus on safety management

Regulatory knowledge: Understanding of CASA regulations.

Leadership & collaboration: Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide our teams.

Problem solver: Analytical reasoning, conflict resolution, and decision-making with attention to detail and urgency.

Effective communicator: Possess good written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage confidential matters.
