About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Liability Insurance Lawyer to join our in‑house legal team. In this role, you will manage complex public liability claims, provide legal advice on liability risks and work towards achieving positive business outcomes. The ideal candidate would be based in Brisbane, however we are open to candidates from Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage litigation related to public liability claims, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolutions.

Provide strategic legal advice on public liability matters, including liability risk, and claims management.

Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations in relation to public liability claims and insurance matters.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including insurers, claims teams, external legal counsel, and business leaders.

Identify emerging legal and industry trends that may impact ISS and provide proactive legal solutions.

Support the development of claims-handling strategies to minimise legal and reputational risks.

Contribute to training and development initiatives to enhance legal understanding within the business.

About You We are seeking an experienced legal professional with a strong background in public liability and personal injury law. The ideal candidate will have :

A degree in Law and a current Legal Practising Certificate.

Solid experience in public liability insurance, personal injury law, or insurance litigation.

A deep understanding of regulatory and statutory insurance obligations.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.

Experience in claims and risk management and legal compliance.
