General Manager - Cascade

Overview Cascade Brewery Bar is one of Tasmania’s most iconic hospitality venues, welcoming locals and tourists alike within a large, complex, and fast-growing operation. With the venue more than doubling in size over the past two years and further growth ahead, we are seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead day-to-day operations and take full ownership of performance, people, and profitability.

This is a rare opportunity to step into one of the largest hospitality venues in the state and make a meaningful impact while enjoying a lifestyle-driven life in Hobart.

Your Impact As Venue Manager, you will take ownership of the daily leadership and operational performance of an approximately $8m venue, leading a large and diverse team while ensuring an exceptional guest experience aligned to the Cascade brand.

You will be accountable for translating strategy into execution, maintaining strong commercial discipline, and leading the venue through continued growth and peak seasonal trade.

Key Accountabilities

Lead and inspire a large hospitality team across front of house, bar, events, and support functions during peak summer periods.

Own the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring seamless service delivery, strong compliance, and consistently high presentation standards

Manage labour, budgets, and cost controls to deliver commercial outcomes while maintaining service excellence

Oversee product mix, stock control, supplier relationships, and operational decision-making

Lead the delivery of events, functions, and peak trading periods in a high-volume environment

Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, engagement, and development

Act as a visible leader and brand ambassador within the venue and the broader Hobart tourism community

About You

Proven experience leading large, high-volume, multifaceted hospitality venues, ideally with larger staff environments

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Venue Manager, General Manager, or Senior Hospitality Manager

Strong operational and commercial acumen, with the ability to adjust operations to meet budgets and performance targets

Confident people leader with experience developing leadership teams and driving culture

Comfortable operating in complex, fast-paced environments with significant seasonal trade

Open to candidates from interstate, particularly those seeking a lifestyle move to Tasmania

Experience in tourism-focused or event-led venues will be highly regarded
