Principal Electrical Engineer

The Principal Electrical Engineer will lead, support, and grow Ampcontrol’s HV Field Services Engineering Team. This team is responsible for delivering high‑quality, technically sound, and operationally feasible solutions that meet client requirements and align with HV Field Services operational delivery standards. A key focus of this role is to drive the expansion of Ampcontrol’s HV Services business offerings by developing and mentoring a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence, and ensuring best‑in‑class service delivery. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Lead and manage the HV Field Services Engineering Team, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Mentor and develop a team of young engineers, fostering technical capability and career growth. Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Technical Expertise & Delivery

Provide advanced technical leadership in HV systems, including substantial experience in

protection system design

and commissioning. Ensure engineering solutions are compliant with relevant standards, regulations, and client specifications. Oversee complex technical projects from concept through to operational delivery, ensuring feasibility and quality outcomes. Business Growth & Service Expansion

Support the General Manager HV Services in expanding service offerings and capabilities within the HV Services business. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in engineering practices and service delivery. Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions. Operational Support

Collaborate with HV Field Services Operational Delivery Leaders to ensure seamless execution of engineering solutions. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for field operations. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction. Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or eligibility preferred. Extensive experience in

HV systems and protection system design , testing, and commissioning. Proven track record in

service‑based business environments . Demonstrated leadership experience, including team development and mentoring. Strong understanding of relevant standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements. Skills & Attributes

Exceptional technical problem‑solving and analytical skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams. Excellent communication skills for client engagement and stakeholder management. Commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities.
