The role
As demand for trusted, sovereign cyber partners is increasing CSO Group is investing in local market leadership to accelerate our presence in the state. This role is about driving new business by building on existing relationships, shaping pipeline and converting opportunity with the full backing of a national business.
This is a senior individual contributor role with accountability for revenue, growth and gross margin across a defined portfolio of QLD State Government, Critical Infrastructure and large enterprise customers.
You’ll balance strategic account ownership with new business development, leveraging your existing relationships and deep understanding of the QLD market to drive long‑term customer and revenue growth.
This role is BDM‑led, highly autonomous and best suited to someone who has worked in environments where ownership, pace and credibility matter.
What you’ll be responsible for
Owning and executing account and territory strategies across QLD
Driving new business opportunities from identification through to close
Managing and growing revenue across advisory, professional and managed services
Retaining and expanding recurring revenue through renewals, uplifts and cross‑sell opportunities
Partner with Account Managers, Solution Consultants, and leading cybersecurity vendors - including CrowdStrike, Netskope, Mimecast, OKTA, Saviynt, and ServiceNow - to co‑create customer strategies.
Engage senior customer stakeholders (CXO, CISO, and executive teams) through QBRs, workshops, and roadmap sessions.
Collaborate closely with CSO Group’s Advisory & Professional Services teams to drive deeper engagement in:
System Integration
Cyber Strategy & Architecture
Essential 8 & ISO 27001 Assessments
Navigating QLD Government procurement and decision‑making processes
Orchestrating internal teams to deliver customer outcomes and value‑based solutions
Developing proposals, business cases and Statements of Work
Maintaining accurate forecasting and pipeline management
What you’ll bring
6+ years in Account Management, Account Director or BDM roles within SI, consulting or services organisations
3+ years’ experience selling cybersecurity services
Strong, current QLD Government and enterprise network (essential)
Proven experience selling advisory and professional services
Confidence engaging C‑level and CISO stakeholders in complex sales cycles
Strong commercial acumen and a consistent record of exceeding targets
