We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the Darling Downs South West (DDSW) regional team to lead the provision of educational service delivery to Norfolk Island Central School (NICS) and provide oversight of the Office of the Regional Director (ORD).
The DDSW region is looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Director to lead and manage the delivery of high-quality services and programs that directly support education service delivery to NICS, as well as broader school performance and improvement across the region.
While maintaining a primary focus on educational service delivery to NICS, this role is an integral component of the ORD, ensuring coordination and oversight of the teamโs functions while driving system-wide outcomes that build capability and sustain long-term operational success.
This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
About The Role
While having dual reporting lines through the Regional Director and Executive Director, this senior leadership position will lead and manage the delivery of regional services and programs that contribute to sustained school improvement while supporting the development and implementation of effective strategies that enhance school performance and strengthen system capability. The Director will play a key role in shaping regional strategy, monitoring emerging issues, and ensuring that policy direction and practice reflect the needs and priorities of state schools.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Provision of advice and assistance to the Regional Director, Executive Director and senior regional leaders on matters pertaining to the effective delivery of services to Noroflk Island Central School and other associated schools within the region.
Provision of strategic management of services provided by the region to ensure the implementation of legislation, policy, strategies and system initiatives.
The ability to develop and maintain effective communication networks within the region, the department and across agencies in relation to identifying and developing a proactive response to emergent and contentious issues that may impact on school performance and capability.
Leading and managing teams including the development of appropriate reviews, strategies and reporting frameworks, while building the capacity of the team to provide exemplary client service within an environment of tight deadlines, competing priorities and high-level demands.
Design, develop, implement and evaluate professional development programs aimed at the development of leadership capability in the region to ensure sustained school improvement within the region.
Lead and support the collaborative development of strategies to build the capability of teams employing high quality, evidence-based practices within the region.
Identify and address emerging issues and trends that impact on service delivery and develop appropriate responses to ensure that services continue to align with evolving requirements.
Provide oversight of the delivery of services ensuring compliance with policies and guidelines.
Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with local communities, sector representatives and internal and external stakeholders to promote effective services and programs.
Monitor performance and capability of staff and develop and implement strategies to strengthen knowledge, business systems and team performance to meet organisational and Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
