The Peel Thunder Football Club competes in the WAFL, with an affiliation with AFL Club Fremantle Dockers. As the youngest WAFL established club, we have a short but proud history which includes winning WAFL Premierships in 2016, 2017 & 2024, back-to-back WAFLW Premierships in 2020 & 2021, Colts Premierships in 2004, 2005 & 2022, and having a great record of players selected in AFL and AFLW Drafts.

The Club is currently seeking a suitably qualified Chief Executive Officer to lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the biggest sporting brand across Peel Region. Some of the key focus areas of the role include:

Responsibilities

To manage and lead the operations of the Club, in driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement through delivering the Strategic Plan.

To ensure the ongoing sustainability of the Club through strong financial management and sound accounting process and practices.

To foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to maintain a professional perception of the Club, and deliver outstanding services to members, visitors and guests.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in sports, or business management, or equivalent related field.

Extensive management and/or leadership experience in a medium to large sized business.

Extensive financial management experience to support the annual budget process of the Club, including regular reporting on agreed targets/KPI’s.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, including leading a team of staff to deliver outstanding service.

Excellent planning, programming and promotional skills.

Highly developed and proven communication (verbal, written) and interpersonal skills.

An ability to lead and interact effectively as part of a small team.

Strong work ethic, ability to prioritise projects and a willingness to work outside business hours, including weekends.
