About the Position:
Our client is seeking a seasoned
Special Counsel – Property & Commercial
to take on a pivotal leadership role within their Queensland practice. Based in the Gold Coast, you will drive complex and high‑value transactions while mentoring a talented team of junior lawyers.
This role spans a diverse practice mix, including:
Property law
– acting on major acquisitions, developments, leasing, and sales
Commercial contracts
– drafting and negotiating shareholder agreements, joint ventures, and supplier arrangements
Business advisory
– advising SMEs and corporates on asset protection and business structuring
Mergers & acquisitions
– managing transactions including due diligence and deal structuring
Property finance
– advising on mortgage arrangements, lending structures and securities

Key Requirements:
Minimum 8 years’ PAE in property and commercial law (private practice preferred)
Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory capabilities

Experience mentoring junior lawyers
Desire to contribute to firm growth and strategic development
