Bob Hawke College is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Learning Area (HOLA) Languages to join the leadership team of a College that is committed to ensuring the best outcomes for students.
Bob Hawke College opened in February 2020 to more than 250 Year 7 students and is the first high density public secondary college in Western Australia. Our pastoral care approach has been specifically designed to support young adults. Specialist staff provide students with individual support, as well as delivering social and emotional learning through CREW – our pastoral care program. All of our staff excel in their profession and inspire and motivate students, encouraging them to take responsibility for themselves, for others and for the world around them.

The Role
As the Head of Learning Area - Languages, you would lead your staff to develop and deliver quality teaching, learning, and assessment programs in line with the Western Australian Curriculum and be an active member of the school’s leadership team. You will ideally reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. With leadership experience in developing a year seven to twelve languages curriculum, including WACE language processes you will ideally work closely with students, colleagues, and the community to realise an extraordinary languages program. The HOLA is ideally responsible for the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students, focussing on the development of the whole child.

consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
