We are currently partnering with a visionary philanthropic organisation to recruit a Partner, First Nations Talent Strategy โ a newly created role designed to lead and embed First Nations employment initiatives across the organisation.
About the Role
As Partner, First Nations Talent Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a strategic approach to First Nations employment, inclusion, and cultural capability. This role is part of the organisationโs broader commitment to reconciliation and equity, and sits within the Effective Philanthropy team โ a central enabler of impact and systems change.
Youโll work closely with People & Culture, hiring managers, and community stakeholders to create meaningful pathways for First Nations talent, while also supporting cultural learning and leadership across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to increase First Nations representation (minimum 4%)
Partner with hiring managers to embed culturally responsive recruitment and retention practices
Build relationships with community organisations, education providers, and employment agencies
Design onboarding and mentoring programs that support cultural safety and integration
Lead cultural competency training and workshops for staff
Provide advice and support to leaders on culturally appropriate management practices
Develop resources and programs aligned with reconciliation and cultural understanding
Monitor and report on diversity metrics, including representation, retention, and progression
Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement in First Nations employment initiatives
About You
You are a passionate advocate for First Nations inclusion and have deep cultural knowledge, lived experience, or strong community connections. You bring strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and a collaborative mindset to everything you do.
Qualifications and Experience
Subject matter expertise in employment, recruitment, or HR
Relevant tertiary qualifications or 10+ years equivalent experience
Proven experience designing and delivering First Nations employment initiatives
Strong understanding of First Nations cultures, histories, and challenges
Ability to influence, collaborate, and lead change across diverse teams
Analytical skills to interpret data and inform decision-making
Commitment to cultural safety, equity, and reconciliation
