Business Services & Tax Partner
Dee Why (Northern Beaches), Sydney
A well‑established and highly regarded Northern Beaches professional services firm is seeking an experienced Business Services & Tax Partner to step into a planned succession opportunity. With a long‑standing client base and a strong local presence, this role offers a rare chance to take over from a retiring Partner and transition into an equity Partner position.
This is a genuine leadership opportunity for a commercially‑minded practitioner who enjoys building trusted client relationships, mentoring teams, and shaping the next stage of a modern accounting and advisory firm.
The Opportunity
You will take on a substantial and loyal portfolio across SMEs, professional clients, family groups and high‑net‑worth individuals. Working alongside a collaborative leadership team and broader advisory specialists, you will deliver high‑quality tax and business advice while helping drive continued growth.
A client following is welcomed, but not essential. The firm is focused on finding the right long‑term fit and will support the successful candidate to grow their portfolio over time.
Key Responsibilities
Assume ownership of an established Partner‑level client portfolio, ensuring a smooth transition from the retiring Partner and maintaining strong relationship continuity.
Provide business services and taxation advisory including structuring, tax planning, strategic growth advice, profitability improvement, cash‑flow and succession planning.
Oversee tax compliance and technical quality across a diverse entity mix (companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and individuals).
Lead client engagements end‑to‑end: onboarding, discovery, advisory, delivery, and ongoing relationship management.
Review and sign‑off complex work, ensuring best‑practice risk management and compliance standards.
Mentor, develop and inspire a high‑performing onshore and offshore team, including coaching managers and senior accountants.
Stay ahead of legislative, regulatory and technical change, proactively translating impacts for clients and staff.
Contribute to leadership decision‑making, client service innovation, and firm‑wide strategy.
Collaborate with adjacent advisory disciplines to deliver integrated, holistic client solutions.
About You
Proven experience in a senior business services & tax leadership role (Director / Partner / Associate Partner level).
Strong technical knowledge across Australian taxation and business advisory.
Track record of building and maintaining trusted, long‑term client relationships.
Commercial, future‑focused mindset with a practical approach to advice.
Confident people leader who enjoys coaching and developing others.
CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent), with appropriate professional registration.
Any existing client following is advantageous, but not required.
Why This Role
Succession opportunity into a respected Dee Why‑based practice.
Immediate impact through taking over a retiring Partner’s portfolio.
Clear pathway to equity Partnership with support and transition planning.
Loyal, high‑quality client base and strong referral networks.
Collaborative leadership team and a stable, values‑driven culture.
Northern Beaches lifestyle and a firm that values sustainable performance.
