About the role An opportunity is available for an experienced

Patent Attorney ,

Associate or Senior Associate (Biotechnology)

to join the Chemical/Life Sciences team in our

Sydney, Melbourne

or

Brisbane

office.

The ideal candidate will have postgraduate qualifications (PhD level) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, advising clients in relation to patent portfolio management, infringement, and patentability issues, as well as assisting in patent oppositions and/or patent litigation.

Skills and experience To be considered for this position, candidates will have:

Postgraduate qualifications in Biotechnology or similar (PhD level);

Around 2-6 years post qualified experience as a Patent Attorney (preferable);

Experience in a broad range of patent attorney work including drafting of patent specifications, local and foreign patent prosecution, opposition work, and providing infringement and validity opinions;

Strong analytical ability;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Drive and enthusiasm; and

Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
