Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and culturally competent Clinical Director with at least five yearsโ experience in treating clients with addiction to lead and support our medical team. The Clinical Director will provide high-quality clinical care, mentorship, and clinical leadership within Winnungaโs holistic model of care โ integrating physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive and culturally competent clinical care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Lead, mentor, and support a team of General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, General Practitioner Registrars, Nurse Manager and Dentist.
Ensure compliance with clinical governance, quality improvement, and accreditation standards.
Work collaboratively with the CEO, and other senior leaders to develop and implement medical service strategies.
Contribute to workforce development, supervision, and clinical training.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and referral pathways.
Maintain highest standards of professional conduct.
Qualifications
Full registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM.
Deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and cultures to ensure culturally safe interactions.
At least 5 yearsโ experience providing clinical leadership, staff supervision, and operational management within a primary health or similar setting.
Strong experience in primary health care, preferably within Aboriginal or community health settings.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, nurses, dietitians, podiatrists, and allied health professionals.
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively with great attention to detail and accuracy.
Deep care for integrity and professionalism in every interaction (internal and external).
