Seymour's Early Years (ELC) caters for boys and girls from 6 weeks to school age across three carefully curated spaces on the 25-acre grounds of McGregor Campus. Programs span Infants (six weeks to two years) and toddlers (two to three years) where a continuation of the home environment provides safety and nurture whilst the development of some independence is fostered; Kindy for three to five year olds where further development of relationships, more complex thinking, communication and language skills takes place; and the flagship Prep year program for four year old girls preparing them for the commencement of school.
Reporting to the Head of McGregor Campus and supported by the Early Years Manager, the
Head of Early Years
is responsible for the educational leadership and effective administration of all aspects of the Early Learning program ensuring it contributes to a high quality environment for children's learning, wellbeing and development. The role leads and supports teaching and learning outcomes for both students and staff.
Development and implementation of an Early Years philosophy in consultation with the Head of McGregor and the Principal that reflects the College strategy, achieves best practice across all programs and operations, and sustains enrolments through to the Junior Years.
Leading and mentoring Early Years educators with a regular presence in the classrooms to ensure delivery of contemporary and high quality educational experience.
Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Standards (ACECQA), the Education Standards Board (ESB) and the Early Years Learning Framework.
Collaboration with colleagues, parents, community and other stakeholder groups for effective management and delivery of diverse ELC operations and projects.
Applications are encouraged from qualified early childhood educators with leadership experience in early years or junior school environments. A genuine understanding of and commitment to contemporary pedagogy and wellbeing practice, combined with excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building capacity, warmth, integrity, empathy and energy to engage with and inspire the College and the wider community will be qualities for success in this role.
