About this role
Rocky Bay is seeking a passionate and proactive Public Relations, Communications and Events Advisor to join our close‑knit marketing team.
Reporting to the Brand and Engagement Manager and providing leadership to a Senior PR and Communications Officer and a Content and Communications Officer, you’ll play a key role in shaping our brand and communications impact.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, delivering engaging communications across print, web and social media and traditional media. This is your chance to take the lead on Rocky Bay’s public relations, communications and events strategy.
As a hands-on leader, you will have
Experience in communications, public relations, journalism, event management or related discipline
Outstanding communication, influencing and engagement skills
A proven successful track record in event management
Able to build and sustain a diverse range of collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Established media networks and relationships
High level of personal drive and resilience
Demonstrated integrity, self-awareness and professionalism
Continuous improvement mindset
Demonstrated commercial acumen and strong understanding of contemporary practices, trends and opportunities
Strong leadership and management skills of high-performing teams
What you need to do
Rocky Bay is a leading provider of disability services, supporting thousands of children and adults across Western Australia to live their best lives. As part of the marketing team, you will be expected to:
Deliver outstanding communications
Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement skills
Show commercial acumen and strong understanding of contemporary practices, trends and opportunities
Interpret conflicting and complex information and select appropriate communications channels
Have a continuous improvement mindset
Demonstrate integrity, self‑awareness and professionalism
Manage people effectively
Have a high standard of computer literacy and attention to detail
Be skilled in events management
Given the nature of this role, you will occasionally be required to work outside regular hours to support events and expos and, when needed, to lead crisis communications or media management.

Requirements
Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business or a related field
National Police Clearance
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current WA Driver’s Licence
