The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority is seeking an experienced and collaborative Chief Operating Officer to lead the establishment of core services required for a nation leading regulatory authority.

The COO works closely with the CEO and is responsible for leading services that ensure delivery and achievement of the VECRA's strategic and business plans, compliance (including risk) and reporting, and support and systems to ensure best practice regulatory capability.

The COO will oversee a large and diverse high-performing team of technical specialists in a range of disciplines to support VECRA's operational requirements including finance, people and culture, communications and stakeholder engagement, Information Technology (IT), accommodation and facilities, policy, planning and governance.

From the outset, the COO will be responsible for establishing core functions of VECRA as required for independence from the Department of Education. The successful candidate will be required to work cross-functionally and collaboratively as part of a strong and cohesive senior leadership team and will broker and maintain relationships as well as actively and strategically engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
